Who I am as a doctor is because of who I am as an athlete. Sports taught me the intangible qualities of an athlete’s mentality – a mamba mentality – discipline, enthusiasm, resilience. These qualities were further exemplified by my parents, and we all see it in Philadelphia’s grit. Crucial to being a successful athlete was also respecting the fundamentals of my health – how I nourish my body, how I move, and how I recover. In order to be my best, taking care of myself is non-negotiable.

This paradigm does not exist in our conventional medical system. Instead, sleep deprivation and a complete neglect of self-care are normalized for doctors. My health and performance suffered as a doctor, and I was far from giving my best to my patients, and myself. So I decided to do something about it.

  • Match Fit Medical is for clients who want to improve the key fundamentals of their health – exercise, nutrition, and sleep.

  • It is for doctors who want to be an example of health.

  • It is for medical students and residents who recognize the need for a shift in medicine.

  • It is for anybody who is ready for something different.

Most importantly, Match Fit Medical is for Philadelphia. Because hungry dogs run faster.

As an athlete, I know how crucial it is to treasure my health, it requires a proactive plan to optimally nourish, move, and recover in order for me to be at my best. As a doctor, I know how crucial it is to teach this to my patients. Not only by talking the talk, but also walking the walk – I want to be an educator and guide, but also an example of health for my patients.
